services / what trilot does directly

Software, shipped quietly.

Trilot's direct work covers five offerings. Domain investing lives under its own brand — DnBlackbook.

01

Web & software development

Trilot · long-form custom platforms

Long-form custom platforms. Web applications, internal tools, content systems. AI-assisted where it earns its place.

What this is.

Custom platforms. Web applications, internal tools, content systems. The work is built around a single product or a single team, with timeline and architecture that reflect what's actually being shipped.

Engagements run six months and up. Not landing pages. Not template work. Not a WordPress reskin with a new color palette.

The discipline is long-form by design — the kind of work that needs to survive a personnel change, an acquisition, a Q3 strategy pivot, and a senior engineer who leaves for a series-B competitor. If the project can't survive any of those, it shouldn't have been built this way in the first place.

How it runs.

Direct engagement with Rami as the operator. The team scales to the work — not the other way around. AI assistance is used where it earns its place: discovery, scaffolding, audits, repetitive code generation. The strategic decisions stay with the humans.

Decision logs are maintained from week one. Architecture choices, vendor evaluations, scope changes — written down, dated, signed. Anyone joining the project six months in can read the history before the first standup.

What you get.

Working software. Deployed. Stable. Documented.

A handover document that an incoming team can actually use, not a marketing PDF with a system diagram on page three.

Optionally, an ongoing relationship through service 02 — fractional technical leadership — for the months after launch when most projects quietly degrade.

Scope.

In scope: custom platform builds, web applications, internal tooling, content management systems, technical content pipelines, API integration, AI-assisted product surfaces, deployment infrastructure, observability, handover documentation.

Out of scope: marketing landing pages, template reskins, WordPress projects, fixed-bid work under three months, work where the spec is "make it look like [competitor]". Those are real markets — they're just other people's markets.

Engagement.

Six-month minimum. One-year standard. Multi-year possible for platforms that justify it.

Engagements priced as fixed-fee or monthly retainer, scoped per project. Half-up to start, balance on milestones. No hourly billing — that incentivizes the wrong things.

Optional handover-and-hold retainer for the six months post-launch, billed monthly.

Fractional technical leadership

Trilot · embedded technical leadership for founders

Embedded technical leadership for founders without a CTO. Architecture, hiring, vendor calls, technical roadmap.

What this is.

Part-time technical leadership for founders without a CTO, or for existing teams that need a senior layer between engineering and the founder.

Architecture, hiring, vendor evaluation, technical roadmap. One day a week. Two days a week. On-call to a board for a quarter. The cadence is negotiable. The role is not.

This is the role companies hire when they need senior judgment now but don't yet have the revenue, the headcount, or the cap-table room to bring on a full-time CTO. It's also the role companies hire when they have a senior engineer who is excellent in code but not yet ready to be the technical voice in a board meeting.

How it runs.

Weekly cadence, async-first. Direct access to Rami — not a junior, not a delegate. Most meetings are 30 minutes; most decisions happen in writing.

Not a coach. Not an advisor. Embedded leadership with decision authority where the founder grants it, and clear handoff back when the engagement ends.

What you get.

Architectural clarity. A vendor list with real reasoning attached. Better hires — the kind of senior engineer who chooses you over a series-B competitor. A technical roadmap that survives Q3 and Q4 without being rewritten.

And documentation. The kind that lets the next CTO walk in and pick up the thread.

Scope.

In scope: architectural decisions, hiring loops (interview design, candidate evaluation, offer conversations), vendor and tooling evaluation, technical roadmap, engineering-org structure, board-level technical communication, post-mortem facilitation, technical due-diligence on partnerships and acquisitions.

Out of scope: day-to-day code reviews of every PR, hands-on shipping as an individual contributor, replacement of an existing CTO's authority while they're still in seat, fractional engagements under one full quarter.

Engagement.

One-quarter minimum. Six-month standard. Cadence options:

Cadence option 1 — One day a week

weekly call + async work, suited to seed-stage teams making one or two big technical decisions per month.

Cadence option 2 — Two days a week

weekly call + drop-in availability, suited to Series-A teams in active hiring or architecture phases.

Cadence option 3 — On-call to a board

quarterly retainer for board-facing technical communication, due diligence, and quarterly review.

Flat monthly retainer, scoped per cadence and engagement length. Clear handoff at engagement end, documented for the incoming CTO.

Technical audits

Trilot · independent technical assessment

Independent assessment of code, architecture, security posture, and team practice. Read by humans, written for action.

What this is.

Independent assessment. Code, architecture, security posture, team practice. Scoped to a single product, a single service, or an entire engineering organization — whatever the operator on the other side of the table needs read.

The output is a written report with prioritized findings. Not a slide deck. Not a dashboard. A document the team can sit with.

Most audits are commissioned for one of three reasons: a new technical leader wants a baseline read before making changes; a board wants an independent view before an investment or acquisition; or a team has been shipping fast for two years and wants to know what it's now sitting on. All three are valid. All three benefit from the same approach.

How it runs.

Two-to-six-week engagement depending on scope. Code is read directly — no inference from architecture diagrams. Interviews with the engineers and the product leaders. Security review where the engagement calls for it. AI-system audits are available as a scope option. They are not the default. Most audits are about everything else first.

What you get.

A report meant to be acted on, not shelved. Prioritized findings, suggested sequence, clear ownership next to each item. Specific enough to assign on Monday.

An optional walk-through with the engineering team after delivery — half a day, decision-focused, recorded.

Scope.

In scope: source-code review, architecture assessment, security posture and threat-model review, third-party dependency audit, deployment and infrastructure review, technical-team practice and process assessment, AI-system audit (model selection, prompt design, evaluation discipline, cost discipline), optional post-delivery walk-through.

Out of scope: full penetration testing (referred out to a specialist firm), compliance certification work (SOC 2, ISO 27001 — also referred out), ongoing remediation work beyond the delivered report (that becomes a Service 01 or 02 engagement).

Engagement.

Two-week, four-week, or six-week engagements depending on scope.

Fixed-fee, scoped per engagement, half-up to start. Half on report delivery. Optional walk-through billed separately as a half-day.

Reports are delivered as PDF + markdown, both formats, both archivable.

Meeting & decision cadence

Trilot · operating cadence for engineering teams

Operating cadence for product and engineering teams. Decision logs, weekly rhythms, async-first artifacts.

What this is.

A designed operating cadence for product and engineering teams. Decision logs, weekly rhythms, async-first artifacts, calendar discipline.

The work replaces ad-hoc meeting drift with a structure the team can defend on the day a senior leaves. It applies to any team shipping software. AI-assisted teams are one common case — not the only one.

Most teams don't have a meeting problem. They have a decision-debt problem that manifests as meetings — recurring touchpoints that exist because no one wrote down what was decided the first time, so the conversation has to happen again. Fixing the cadence means fixing the decision discipline first. Fewer meetings is the consequence, not the goal.

How it runs.

Two-week diagnostic of the current cadence. What the calendar actually looks like. Where decisions are made, where they re-litigate, where they disappear. Then a designed replacement, sized to the team.

Six-week rollout with weekly check-ins. Documentation handed off so the cadence runs without ongoing involvement after the engagement ends.

What you get.

A documented operating system for the team. Fewer meetings on the calendar. Faster decisions, with the path each one took written down. Decision history that survives a personnel change — the next product lead can pick up where the last one left off.

Scope.

In scope: calendar audit, decision-log design, async-artifact templates (RFCs, decision records, weekly digests), meeting taxonomy (which meeting types exist, who attends, how decisions land), retro and post-mortem rhythm design, hand-off and onboarding documentation.

Out of scope: generic productivity coaching, individual time-management, project-management tool selection (a Service 03 audit handles that better), engagements with teams smaller than five or larger than fifty (smaller doesn't need this; larger needs a different shape).

Engagement.

Eight weeks total: two-week diagnostic plus six-week rollout. Weekly 30-minute check-ins throughout. Async work between sessions.

Fixed-fee, scoped per team size. Optional quarterly follow-up retainer for the year after rollout, billed quarterly.

AI advisory under LogicOfLogic

LogicOfLogic · ai advisory under LogicOfLogic

Trilot's AI advisory work runs under the LogicOfLogic brand. Nine working categories — advisory-led, operator-built. Full LOL site launches with DnBlackbook v2 in late 2026.

logicoflogic / ai advisory inside the trilot group

LogicOfLogic is Trilot's AI advisory brand. The full LOL site launches alongside DnBlackbook v2 in late 2026. Below is the operating scope today — nine working categories, advisory-led, operator-built.

i. nine categories / what logicoflogic does

01 — Marketing & content

Content systems, brief automation, editorial pipelines. AI in the loop where it sharpens the work, not where it replaces judgement.

02 — Agents & workflow

Custom agents for the dull parts of operations — inbox triage, document handling, internal lookups. Built to be auditable, not magical.

03 — Conversational AI

Voice and chat interfaces wired to your data and your business logic. Customer-facing or internal. Designed to fail gracefully.

04 — Sales

Lead enrichment, outreach drafting, CRM hygiene. Tooling that compounds, not another dashboard.

05 — Operations

Process automation across finance, HR, admin, and back-office. AI is the glue; the workflow has to be clean before automation earns its keep.

06 — Business intelligence

Data extraction, reporting layers, anomaly surfacing. AI works on numbers when the pipes underneath are honest.

07 — Creative

Image, video, and audio production where AI is part of the tooling, not the whole story. Studio discipline, not generative noise.

08 — Integration

APIs, model providers, vector stores, MCP servers, agent frameworks. The connective tissue between prototype and production.

09 — Consulting

Engagements for teams choosing what to build, what to skip, and where to invest. Honest opinions, written down.

ii. full site in build / logicoflogic

The full LogicOfLogic site is in build, launching alongside DnBlackbook v2 in late 2026. The current LOL surface holds a prompt-engineering cheat sheet and the brand foundation.

how services combine / three common bundles

Most engagements are two services wearing one coat.

Services are picked up in sequence more often than in isolation. These are the three shapes that come up most.

Assessment-led

Technical audit Fractional CTO

Start with an independent read of the code and the team, then keep the person who read it embedded while the fixes land.

Build-and-run

Web & software Meeting cadence

Ship the platform, then install the weekly rhythm that keeps it shipping after the launch energy fades.

Lead-and-modernize

Fractional CTO AI advisory

Embedded leadership for the roadmap, with LogicOfLogic handling the agentic work when AI becomes core infrastructure.

not sure which service

Tell the operator what’s stuck.

The right service depends on where the team currently is. Sometimes what looks like a software build is really an audit; sometimes what looks like an audit is really a cadence problem. The first conversation sorts that out.
